Magnitude 5.1 earthquake hits Iran, felt in Armenia

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit 41 km southwest of the city of Khoy in Iran at 15:47 local time (11:47 GMT), the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations informs.

The quake was registered at the depth of 10 km. The intensity reached 7 at the epicenter.

The tremor was felt in Armenia’s Syunik, Vayots Dzor and Ararat regions, as well as capital Yerevan.
