Armenian tenor Rouben Elbakian awarded Gold Medal of the Grand Prix Humanitaire de France

 French-Armenian tenor Rouben Elbakian has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Grand Prix Humanitaire de France.

“Very honored to be decorated in the French Senate with the Gold Medal of the Grand Prix Humanitaire de France for my Charity Recitals in France and abroad. I would like to thank President Lucie CALDERON, who often attends my performances for this touching distinction,” Elbakian said.

Founded in 1892, the Grand Prix Humanitaire de France has been awarded to more than 15,500 people, including Princess Grace of Monaco (1965), Princess Diane of Orleans (1990), Prince Albert II of Monaco (2007) and others.

Rouben Elbakian is rewarded for his numerous charity Recitals, the most notable of which are the Recital at the National Opera of Armenia in 2007 for the benefit of the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation; the Recital at the Church of the Trinite in Paris in 2012 for the benefit of the Abbé Pierre Foundation and the Ave Maria Recital at the Church of the Madeleine in Paris in 2019 for the benefit of the largest Foundation in France – Secours Catholique.
