The UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) plans to begin assessing the necessary assistance to Nagorno-Karabakh for the urgent deployment of a special mission there, an official at the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations told TASS.
“The UN Mine Action Service is working on the urgent deployment of a mission [in Nagorno-Karabakh] in response to a request from the parties, in coordination with other UN offices and country representatives already on the ground,” the official said.
It will most likely begin assessing the assistance needed in early December.
