Armenian PM’s wife invites Azerbaijan’s First Lady to Artsakh

Armenian Prime Minister’s spouse Anna Hakobyan has invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s wife to listen to “mugham” in Artsakh.

“She can be our guest, we know how to honor a guest, one of the rules of hospitality is to honor the guest with music, we can fulfill her dream and ensure that she listens to beloved mugham in Karabakh,” she said, addressing the “Women, Peace and Security” conference in Yerevan.

The statement comes after Mehriban Aliyeva took to social media to share her dream to listen to mugham in Karabakh.

Hakobyan added she is ready to visit Baku, if Aliyeva accepts her invitation.

“However, if Mehriban Aliyeva means that their dream is to come to Karabakh and listen to mugam through war, I assure that this dream will remain unfulfilled. Furthermore, if they start new war, there will appear new settlements where listening to mugham will be an unfulfilled dream,” Hakobyan stated.

She stressed that peace and good-neighborly relations is the only way to fulfill that dream.

“This could sound unrealistic at this point, but many peoples in the world have managed to overcome more long-standing conflicts and continue to live side-by side and part of the same financial and political structures,” the Prime Minister’s wife stated.
