No alternative to peaceful coexistence of different religions in 21st century – Catholicos of All Armenians

We were deeply saddened to learn of the terrorist attack on November 11 in the village of Qamishli in Syria that killed the spiritual leader of the Armenian Catholic community. Fr. Bedoyan and his father, as well as their deacon, were injured, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, said.

“Such a crime can have no justification. The 21st century should be a time when the peaceful coexistence of different nations and religions in all corners of the world has no alternative, for both past and present crimes to receive their fair assessment for the sake of establishing a peaceful and creative life,” His Holiness said.

“Strictly condemning any encroachment upon God-given life, we offer our prayer to God for the peace of their souls and offer our sympathy to the family of the deceased, and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded deacon,” the Catholicos said.
