Serbia, EAEU to sign Free Trade Agreement on October 25

Serbia will sign a Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on October 25. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic discussed the issue at a meeting in Japan today.

“I’m glad this will be taking place under the Armenian chairmanship of EAEU,” President Sarkissian said. He is confident the agreement will open up new trade opportunities for Armenia and Serbia.

The President once again welcomed the decisions of the Serbian side on abolishing the visa regime for the citizens of Armenia and opening of an Embassy in Yerevan, noting that these are important steps in strengthening the relations between the two countries.

The parties reaffirmed the agreements reached in Belgrade, particularly touching on the intention to hold the Armenian Sevan Startup Festival in parallel with the annual EXIT music festival in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Prime Minister Brnabic said that the Serbian delegation will visit Armenia soon to get acquainted with the directions of cooperation and possible programs on the ground.
