Armen Gyulbudaghyants quits as Armenia head coach

Armenia head coach Armen Gyulbudaghyants has filed his resignation after the national team practically lost chances to qualify for the final stage of Euro 2020, the Football Federation of Armenia informs.

“I have been the head coach of the Armenian national team for a year. There have been moments of both joy and sadness during this period. The qualifying round is not over yet, but I have made a difficult decision to step down as the head coach of the team, as I was unable to justify the hopes of the Armenian fans to take the team to the finals of the European Championship,” Gyulbudaghyants said in a statement.

The national team now has only theoretical chances to qualify.

Armen Gyulbudaghyants expressed gratitude to the coaching and medical staff, the players, the President and staff of the Football Federation for support.
