Pashinyan, Aliyev discuss ways to ease tensions

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have discussed the situation in the Karabakh conflict settlement process and the ways to mitigate the tensions, Prime Minister’s Spokesman Vladimir Karapetyan told Armenpress.

The two talked during a dinner on the sidelines of the sitting of the CIS Council of Heads of State in Ashkhabad.

“Pashinyan and Aliyev were seated side by side, alphabetically arranged, which allowed them to talk and exchange views,” the Spokesperson said.

The discussion was mostly focused on the current situation in the conflict settlement process, the opportunities to ease tensions and the future steps, Karapetyan said.

He added that the conversation lasted 1.5 to 2 hours.
