Armenian, Russian FMs discuss developments in Syria, Karabakh

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Sergey Lavrov held a meeting on the sidelines of sitting of the CIS Foreign Ministers’ Council in Ashkhabad.

The parties hailed the intensive high-level dialogue and referred to the process of implementation of the decisions reached between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the consultations between the Foreign Ministries.

“We are pleased with the high level of our dialogue and our relations. We are also actively cooperating on issues on the international agenda. The EAEU Summit in Yerevan was a good opportunity to reflect on the prospects for further development of this integration platform at the highest level,” said Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.

The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on various issues on the agenda of Armenian-Russian allied partnership, cooperation within the framework of multilateral platforms – the UN, the OSCE, etc., as well as integration processes.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia discussed issues on the regional and international agenda, including recent developments in Syria as a result of Turkey’s actions.

The process of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict was also discussed at the meeting.
