Armenia sees good bases for the development of relations with Israel, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan told a press briefing today.
“There is a bilateral commitment to take steps to utilize the untapped potential,” Naghdalyan said.
“We have had an active dialogue with the Israeli side over the year, there have political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries,” she added.
“By opening a diplomatic representation in Israel, we’ll reinforce our position in an area where we have primary interests. The opening of the Embassy should be viewed from this perspective,” the Spokesperson said.
She added there is a bilateral commitment to move on with the plans, and steps are being taken in that direction, but refrained from providing further details.
The issue was first raised in the state budget request for Fiscal Year 2020.
