UEFA to help build 76 football pitches across Armenia

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received today UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin. President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Artur Vanetsyan was present at the meeting.

The Prime Minister welcomed Mr. Čeferin’s visit to the country and attached importance to the close and effective cooperation between UEFA and FFA.

Nikol Pashinyan hailed UEFA’s support to the development of football infrastructures in Armenia.  He voiced confidence that Mr. Čeferin’s visit would contribute to the implementation of new programs with the Armenian Football Federation, including the construction of a national stadium in Armenia.

Aleksander Čeferin, in turn, assured that UEFA would continue to support the development of football in Armenia and help improve the infrastructure.

He revealed UEFA’s plans to support the construction of 76 pitches with artificial grass in Armenia’s regions, provide the Football Federation with necessary equipment, implement programs towards development of mini-football and women’s football.

The UEFA chief noted that football has become a separate branch of economy in the contemporary world. The interlocutors agreed that football plays an important role in social life and in uniting peoples.
