Armenia’s economic activity advances 8.1% in July 2019

Armenia’s economic activity advanced 8.1 percent year-on-year in July 2019, the most since April, picking up from a 3.4 percent rise in the previous month.

Output rose faster for industry (16.1 percent vs 12.8 percent in June); services (14.9 percent vs 10.2 percent); retail trade (9.1 percent vs 6.7 percent) and construction (4.1 percent vs 0.6 percent).

In the first seven months of the year, economic activity grew 6.8 percent compared to the same period a year ago.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the indicators at the government sitting today. He added that the average nominal salaries grew 8 percent, and added that exports grew by 19.5 percent in July.

The Prime Minister therefore concluded that double-digit growth is quite possible.
