President Armen Sarkissian received today Gladys Berejiklian, the Premier of the Australian State of New South Wales, who is currently in Armenia on a private visit.
The President welcomed Mrs. Berejiklian’s visit to the Motherland and hailed her activity towards recognition of the Armenian Genocide and Artsakh’s right to self-determination.
New South Wales adopted a resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide back in 1997.
Gladys Berejiklian said that being a grandchild of Armenian genocide survivors and visiting Armenia, she is proud of her Armenian descent and roots. He voiced hope that she will see Armenia even better during every visit.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the perspectives of cooperation between Armenia and Australia’s State of New South Wales. They also referred to the Australian Armenian community and its role.
