Vatican’s new Nuncio presents credentials to Armenian President

Newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to Armenia Msgr. José Avelino Bettencourt (residence in Tbilisi) presented his credentials to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.
President Sarkissian congratulated the Nuncio and wished him success in his important mission.
As Armenia’s first Ambassador to the Vatican, Armen Sarkissian said he’s well aware of the rich history of the Armenia-Vatican relations and agenda.
The President noted that the bilateral historic ties, the huge cultural and religious heritage provide good perspectives and a solid basis for further cooperation.
