System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian is attending the session of the National Assembly. The Parliament has convened a special sitting to vote for Prime Minister, a week after Nikol Pashinyan’s bid was rejected.
The musician arrived in Armenia Monday to support the people’s movement. At Zvartnots Airport he was welcomed by Nikol Pashinyan, the only candidate nominated for the Prime Minister’s post.
Addressing a rally at Republic Square, Tankian said he was very touched by the welcome.
“You are creating a Motherland every Armenian will be proud of. The world is looking at us as a positive example,” Tankian said.
According to him, Armenia had long been known to the world with the genocide and the earthquake, while the movement will help raise the country’s standing in the world.
