Business Insider: Pumpkin as the staple of traditional Armenian Christmas meal

The Business Insider has presented the holiday dishes and meals that people around the world eat on Christmas. According to the website, Pumpkin is the staple of the traditional Armenian Christmas meal.

“We have eaten pumpkin, called ghapama, at Christmas for centuries,” Narek, from Yerevan, Armenia told the Business Insider.

“Christmas is special because it is the only time we eat pumpkin. We stuff it with plav, a mixture of rice and raisins, and honey. This is then served with turkey,” he said.
