Iran to supply more gas to Armenia

Iran will supply more gas top Armenia under the “Electricity for natural gas” program.

The issue was discussed at a meeting in Yerevan between Armenia’s Minister of Energy Infrastructures and National Resources Ashot Manukyan and Behzad Babazadeh, Director of the International Affairs Department at National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

The parties discussed the annual results of the “Electricity for natural gas” program, the process of construction of the third Iran-Armenia high-voltage power-line and the plans for 2018.

Ashot Manukyan also met with Iranian businessmen interested in the perspective of investing in Armenia’s renewable energy sector.

The Minister briefed the Iranian businessmen on the newly-opened Meghri Free Economic Zone, which, he said, can serve a new platform for the development of trade relations with countries of the Eurasian Economic union.
