Nalbandian, EU Envoy discuss Armenia-EU ties, Karabakh peace process

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received today Toivo Klaar, the newly appointed EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Conflict in Georgia.

The parties discussed issues related to Armenia-EU relations and attached importance to the signing of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

They noted that it forms a firm legal framework basis for the further reinforcement and deepening of Armenia-EU cooperation.

Minister Nalbandian briefed the guest on Armenia’s approaches towards an exceptionally peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, as well as the joint efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group towards that end.

Toivo Klaar, in turn, reiterated the European Union’s full support for the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ efforts and approaches.

The interlocutors exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues.
