Military College after Monte Melkonian opens in Dilijan

Today in Dilijan, President Serzh Sargsyan attended a ceremonious event for the official opening of the Military-Sports Training College (MSTC) after Monte Melkonian of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. The opening ceremony was dedicated to the birthday of the National Hero of Armenia, Artsakh Hero Monte Melkonian. Note that November 25 marks the 60th birth anniversary of Monte Melkonian.

The President joined the RA Minister of Defense, National Security Council members and the guests in attendance to watch the ceremonial march of MSTC students.

During the event, Monte Melkonian’s statue was unveiled in the college grounds. The honor of unveiling the statue was reserved to MSTC graduate Vahagn Asatryan and MSTC student David Andreasyan.

An oath-taking function was held for 80 graduation-class students who are leaving the MSTC this year, after which the students joined the special squad fighters to demonstrate their combat tricks, called “Road to Heights.”

Accompanied by the guests, Serzh Sargsyan toured the premises to inspect the conditions available for the students. The President also attended the opening of the Tumo auditorium created through Tumo-Army cooperation.

The event ended with a festive concert and fireworks. During the ceremonious opening of the Military-Sports Training College after Monte Melkonian the President of the Republic of Armenia delivered a speech.
