A Russian delegation headed by Member of the Russian Federal Assembly Nikolay Ryzhkov visted the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial today accompanied by Member of the Armenian National Assembly Artashes Geghamyan and former MP Volodya Badalyan.
The Russian lawmakers laid flowers at the Memorial and observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
Nikollay Ryzhkov said he learnt about the Armenian Genocide at school, but added that “reading is one thing,” but visiting the Memorial is a different thing.
“Every delegation visiting Armenia has to come and bow at this sacred place for the Armenian people,” he said.
