Czech Senate delegation led by Speaker Milan Štěch visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial in Yerevan today.
The guests laid flowers at the memorial to the Armenian Genocide victims and observed a minute of silence.
The Czech MPs later visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. Senate Speaker Milan Štěch left a note in the guest book.
Mr. Štěch noted that “the Armenian nation has had great losses in the past” and added that “the Tsitsernakaberd memorial is a story of souls of a great number of Armenians.”
“I would like that Armenia to never see such crime and genocide, and never be oppressed. Armenians are a very friendly nation and deserve an independent and peaceful life,” he wrote.
