Armenia’s leading GM Levon Aronian married Arianne Caoili on Saturday, October 30. The wedding took place at Saghmosavank Monastery.
President of the Republic of Armenia, President of the Chess federation Serzh Sargsyan was the best man at the wedding.
Born in the Philippines, Arianne Caoili has been living in Armenia since 2015. ” I’m marrying not just Levon, but whole of Armenia,” she said in a recent interview with Champord newspaper. Arianne performed a traditional Armenian dance for her groom.
“Armenia is my home, and I am part of it. Our country is one of the dearests things for Levon, and for me,” Arianne said. She also recided a poem by Yeghishe Charents.
