‘My little Armenian sister did us both proud’: Cher Praises Kim Kardashian’s photo shoot tribute

Kim Kardashian’s latest magazine spread has won her the support of one of her favorite style icons, the Daily Mail reports.

The reality star, 36, emulated the Goddess of Pop, Cher, 71, in a stunning photo shoot for the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia magazine.

Cher – who is also of Armenian decent – took notice of the gorgeous spread and shared her well wishes to Kim in a Twitter post on Thursday.

‘This Pic Playing with mesh diamond band Dave gave me 2 roll through fingers instead of [smoking]. My Little Armenian Sister did us both Proud,’ Cher wrote of the photo shoot by Mariano Vivanco.

In a series of set-ups borrowed from Cher, the cover girl is seen in a black blouse tucked into her tight jeans while her hands play with the chain of a long golden necklace.

The image is reminiscent to the shoot by photographer Norman Seeff for the singer’s 1976 album I’d Rather Believe In You.

In another series from the shoot, Kim is seen standing in front of a plain backdrop wearing a beaded fringe dress with her leg strategically crossed in fornt of the other.

Kardashian also donned a glittering mini dress and posed similar to the star’s stance nearly 40 years ago.

Cher wore a Bob Mackie creation on the April 1978 set in Los Angeles, photographed by Norman Seeff for her 1976 album I’d Rather Believe In You.

The September issue’s cover was called Iconic Spirit.

Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Louise Nichol explained her choice.

‘Bazaar’s cover story with Kim pays tribute to another Armenian woman at the vanguard of style, Cher; a woman whose fashion choices 40 years ago must have caused as much of a furore as Kim’s provocative selfies do today.’
