Nairit fire poses no threat to people’s health

No one has been injured as a result of the blast and subsequent fire at Nairit chemical plant in Yerevan, the Armenian Ministry of Health informs.

Two firemen were taken to Erebuni Medical Center. They are out of danger and are expected to be discharged later today, the Ministry said.

According to the data of the crisis center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that the ethynol lacquer that burned as a result of fire poses no threat to the health of the public.

Nevertheless, the Ministry of Heath advises residents of nearby districts to keep windows closed, to avoid staying outside for a long time.

According to the data of the hydro meteorological service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the wind is expected to blow from northeast to southwest tonight, which means the smoke will move through Ararat Valley to Turkey.
