Nothing new in Hoagland’s statements, Armenia’s Foreign Minister says

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian sees nothing new in what OSCE Minsk Group’s US Co-Chair Richard Hoagland said about the Karabakh conflict settlement.

“The American Co-Chairs has not said anything new. Look at all previous statements and you’ll see the same things,” Minister Nalbandian told reporters today.

The comments come after interim Co-Chair Richard Hoagland named the six points of the policy on Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement at a meeting with journalists at the Foreign Press Center in Washington, DC.

As for Armenia’s stance on those points, the Foreign Minister said “Armenia has expressed it on many occasions.”

“We have voiced our attitude after the five statements issued by the Presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries,” Edward Nalbandian said.

Speaking about the reasons behind Mr. Hoaglands decision to publicize the points, Minister Nalbandian said: “The American Co-Chair’s tenure is coming to an end, and he just gave a press conference and spoke about certain issues once again.”

Armenia’s Foreign Minister said “it is Azerbaijan avoiding expressing any opinion and pretending that no such proposals and principles exist.”

He added that “it’s not dangerous for Armenia, and Armenia has expressed its stance on many occasions.”
