Armenia is planning to build the first 55 MW solar plant by the end of 2018.
Twenty companies and consortia have submitted bids for the tender for construction of industrial scale solar plants in Armenia.
Companies from the United States, China, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Iran and other countries have applied for participation in the pre-qualification stage. Preference will be given to the firm offering the lowest and most competitive price.
The Armenian Government has given nod to an investment program, which envisages construction of solar plants with the capacity of up to 110 MW in six locations in Armenia.
