Message by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians – on International Women’s Day.
From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, We extend our pontifical love, blessings and congratulations to our mothers, sisters and daughters on the occasion of March 8.
For centuries, the delicate Armenian women have undertaken a specific mission cherished within our national life; educating faithful and devoted brave sons and virtuous daughters. They adorned themselves with decency and honesty and not with gold and silver, through maternal love they transmitted Armenian treasures to generations: keeping the Armenian family strong and prosperous.
Dear women and girls, we are pleased that today with the same devout spirit and devotion you continue making efforts with your God-given graces, for the sake of the education of the younger generation, the strengthening of our country and longevity of our people.
Our wish is that with the blessings of Almighty God, you may always be full of joy and happiness, always beautiful, blessed with virtues and charity.
We pray that Almighty God protect all women under His Holy Right Hand, grant a peaceful and secure family life, and boundless happiness and endless joy.
May the grace of Jesus Christ, the love of God and the sanctity of the Holy Spirit be with you now and forever.
