Armenian Church in Aksehir needs urgent reconstruction

The Armenian Church of Aksehir is in a poor state and needs to be repaired, Akunq.net reports, quoting the Turkish Istasyon Gazetesi.

According to the source, the church built by the Armenian community late in the 19th century, which has been used as a venue for cultural events from time to time.

There are a lot of inscriptions left on the walls of the church, the door and the windows are broken. Besides, it has become a dating place for the students of the neighboring school.

No steps have been taken to reconstruct the church, despite numerous pledges. The reconstruction plan was approved in 2014, but there have been no statements ever since.
