101st anniversary of Armenian Genocide to be marked in Montebello

On April 23 the United Armenian Council of Los Angeles (UACLA) will hold a commemoration at the Armenian Martyrs Monument in Montebello, California, marking the 101st  anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Each year, thousands gather at the Martyrs Monument to hear public officials and genocide scholars reflect upon this notable crime against humanity.
Dignitaries who have taken the stage in recent years include Dr. Israel Charny, genocide scholar, and Mr. Geoffrey Robertson, Queens Counsel.
This year’s commemoration promises to be well-attended, with commitments already in place by many noted public servants, including former U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Marshall Evans, U.S. Congressman Adam B. Schiff (D-CA), City of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Los Angeles County Supervisor (District 1) Hilda Solis, and several state and municipal officials.
