Armenian contract serviceman Vardan Vardanyan, born in 1994, was killed as a result of ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani side at about 08:50 this morning, the NKR Ministry of Defense reports.
Probe into the details of the case is under way.
The NKR Defense Ministry shares the sorrow of this heavy loss and expresses its support to the families and friends of the killed soldier.
The rival violated the ceasefire about 130 times last night, firing over 1,100 shots from weapons of different caliber, including 60 and 82mm mortars, HAN-17 grenades and ZU-23 antiaircraft system.
Front divisions of the NKR Defense Army gave a worthy response to the rival and took necessary steps to organize the reliable protection of the military positions.
