Armenia says ‘yes’ to Cnstitutional changes

With data from all 1997 polling stations counted, the Central Electoral Commission says the Constitutional changes were adopted.

According to theLaw on Referendum, the draft passes if backed by the majority of the voters participating in the polls,  but no less than 1/4 of the total number of the eligible voters.

According to official preliminary results, 63.35% or 825,622 voters cast their ballot in favor of the Constitutional changes, while 32.42% said ‘no.’

A total of 2,566,730 people or 50.51% of eligible voters participated in  the referendum.
