Police use water cannon to disperse the protest against electricity price hike
The Armenian Police used water cannons to disperse the protesters from Baghramyan Street at 05:30 a.m.
Activists were holding a sit-in to protest against the electricity price hike.
A number of protesters and journalists were detained.
The protest, which was organiszed by young activists with no affiliation to any political parties, was triggered by the state regulatory commission’s decision last week to increase the tariff on electricity from August 1.
