Italy shooting: Two killed at Milan courthouse

Italy’s ANSA news agency reports that a man has opened fire in Milan’s courthouse and at least two persons are believed to have been hit. There was no word on their condition, according to the Associated Press.

ANSA quoted the president of the appeals court, Giovanni Canzio, as saying there was more than one victim. The building has been evacuated, and that women were seen leaving the building.

The shooter is believed to be at large, and police were posted at all exits.

ANSA and other news outlets said the man suspected of the shooting was in the courthouse Thursday for a bankruptcy proceeding.

It was unclear how the gunman gained entrance, as visitors to the building have to pass through metal detectors.
