Istanbul-based Armenian woman willing to run for Parliament in Turkey

Istanbul-based Armenian Talin Ergunes Gazer wants to run for parliament in Turkey with the opposition Republican People’s Party, Turkish Taraf reports.

Born in 1977, Talin Ergunes Gazer speaks Armenian, Italian and English.

If elected, she will be the first Armenian female MP in the Turkish Parliament. The only case an Armenian woman was represented in the Turkish legislative body was the period between January 5 and Ovtober 29, when Hermine Galustyan temporarily worked as the President’s representative at the parliament.
