Gagik Tsarukyan quits as Prosperous Armenia Party leader

Gagik Tsarukyan announced today he quits as Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader. Speaking at the Party’s congress today, Tsarukyan said he has decided to withdraw from politics and step down as leader of the party and the parliamentary faction.

“The decision has not been an easy one. This is my personal choice and I hope for your understanding,” he said, addressing PAP members.

“I have never pursued my personal interest during the years in politics and have not used people’s support for my personal goals,” Gagik Tsarukyan said.

He pledged to be helpful to the country and people outside politics. “I will continue to build churches, schools, gyms and will support the representatives of culture and science. “I will do that as an Armenian, as a citizen of the Republic of Armenia.”

Stressing that he will not be linked to Prosperous Party of Armenia in the future, Gagik Tsarukyan expressed gratitude to all his teammates, members of the Political Board, the MPs and all members of the Party.
