The 20-year-old Wolfsburg midfielder died in a fatal accident, on Saturday afternoon, just hours before he was due to fly to South Africa for a winter training camp. Police have confirmed the crash took place near the German city of Bielefeld and the player was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to German Bild newspaper, the driver of the car Volkswagen Touareg exceeded the speed in the torrential rain, in the result of which the car flew over the fence and crashed into a tree and then overturned onto the roof. Being on the back seat, Malanda was thrown out from the car and died on the scene. The other two passengers suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized.
