UK really wants to support a close and productive relationship between the EU and Armenia, Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Leach told Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on the future of relations between Yerevan and Brussels.
“We have had a year of waiting and preparing, and now that Armenia will finally join the Eurasian Economic Union from 2 January, I hope we can move much more quickly to clarify those areas of cooperation with the EU which are still possible and compatible. I know this work is going on intensively right now,” the diplomat said.
Katherine Leach underscored UK’s willingness to support a close and productive relationship between the EU and Armenia, particularly in areas like economic reform, promoting business, building the capacities of civil servants, fighting corruption, and further promoting judicial and human rights reforms.
