Donetsk calls on OSCE, ICRC to check information on tortures, abuse of prisoners in Ukraine

The Donetsk People’s Republic sent addresses to the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross to inspect facts of the abuse of prisoners in Ukraine, the Donetsk republic’s plenipotentiary envoy at the talks in Minsk said, pointing out on the “washed out” appearance of those people and the signs of tortures on many of them, Russian TASS reports. This gave the reason to address the OSCE and the Red Cross to conduct a medical examination of people released from captivity.

The prisoner exchange between Kiev and the Donetsk republic was held in the town of Yasinovataya, north of Donetsk, on December 26.
