Armenia and Russia to set up a Humanitarian Response Center

Russian government approved a draft agreement between Russia and Armenia on the establishment of the Russian-Armenian Center for Humanitarian Response, Russian TASS agency reports. The document is prepared by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry as part of the bilateral cooperation in the field of prevention of industrial accidents, natural disasters and their consequences. Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, in cooperation with Russian Foreign Ministry will hold talks with the Armenian side and sign the said contract on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation upon reaching a mutual agreement.

The center will cooperate with the relevant UN agencies, the European Union and other international organizations.
