The Armenian peacekeeping platoon started its mission in Lebanon within the multi-national United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. On this occasion the Armenian flag was raised in Beirut on November 28 along with the flags of other countries participating in the mission.
The 32-member group of the Armenian peacekeepers carries out mission in Lebanon under the Italian command.
During the solemn ceremony Commander of the UNIFIL Mission, Brigade General of the Italian Army Stefano del Col welcomed the Armenian peacekeepers and their participation in the mission.
