December 9 is the International Anti-Corruption Day. The Corruption Perceptions index 2014 shows that the situation has not changed drastically in the world over the past years. Corruption is still perceived as a major problem in two third of the countries, Head of the Transparency International Anti-Corruption center Varuzhan Hoktanyan told reporters today.

The situation in Armenia has not changed, either. Armenia shares the 94th to 99th places in the Corruption Perceptions index 2014 among 175 countries. Armenia is behind Georgia and Turkey, but still ahead of Azerbaijan and Iran.

The situation has neither improved, nor deteriorated, Hoktanyan said.
