Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received today Nikolay Bordyuzha, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the preparation for the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the Statutory Bodies and the issues on the agenda. They also referred to the process of implementation of the decisions made at the previous session.
The CSTO Secretary General briefed the Armenian President on the results of the current activity of the organization, the achievements registered as a result of cooperation, the development of CSTO military component, the process of implementation of the program of development of the main directions of the military cooperation between the CSTO member states, the current activity of the CSTO joint headquarters, as well as issues connected with the security in the South Caucasus.
In this context the interlocutors referred to the recent downing of the helicopter of NKR Armed Forces by the Azerbaijan during a training flight and its aftermath. Nikolay Bordyuzha said the issue will be discussed at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
