The 32-member group of Armenian peacekeepers has already arrived at the place of dislocation in Lebanon.
As part of the Italian contingent, the Armenian unit will participate in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission and will ensure the security of the UN military camp in Lebanon.
The solemn seeing off ceremony at Zvartnots Airports was attended by Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and Italy’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Giovanni Ricciulli.
Armenian peacekeepers have participated in international missions in Afghanistan and Kosovo since 2004.
