Azerbaijan has deemed the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs a provocation.
“OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ statement on the downing of the helicopter on the front-line is a provocation, absurd and illogical,” Azerbaijani Parliament’s Vice-Speaker Ziyafat Asgarov said Nov. 20 during the parliamentary debate of the 2015 budget package.
“The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs issued a provocative statement that the wreckage of the helicopter lies in a neutral zone. We consider the statement absurd. The area where the helicopter was downed is the territory of Azerbaijan,” he said.
Meanwhile, US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick wrote the following on Twitter: “To be clear, there is no “neutral” territory in the Nagorno-Karabkh conflict. But there is a “no man’s land” separating military forces.”
