Catholic Church celebrates All Saints’ Day

On November 1, Catholic Church celebrates All Saints’ Day.

This Christian holiday has pagan roots. In the British Isles, it is known that churches were already celebrating All Saints on 1 November at the beginning of the 8th century to coincide or replace the Celtic festival of Samhain (festival of the dead), which was believed to be a fest of mystery and magic.
