Tigran Hamasyan plans 100 concerts dedicated to Armenian Genocide centennial

In 2015 pianist Tigran Hamasyan and the Yerevan State Chamber Choir will perform in 100 cities of the world, where Armenians have found refuge after the 1915 Genocide. Hamasyan revealed the plans at a press conference in Yerevan today.

“We completed the recording of the joint concert in cooperation with the German ECM Company,” the musician said.

According to him, the album includes pieces of Armenian religious music of 5th to 10th centuries. The CD dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims is expected to be presented next autumn.
