The Armenian government approved today the draft document on Armenia’s May 29, 2014 accession to the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

The agreement consists of the main text and 5 Annexes, based on which Armenia becomes a member both, of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Customs Union.

Upon its accession to the agreement, Armenia becomes a member of the Eurasian Economic Union.

There is also a separate Annex listing the goods and services on which customs duties will be imposed during the transition period. These duties are different from those used in the Customs Union of the Eurasian Economic Union.

As far as Armenia does not have common borders with other EEU member countries and the goods will be carried out through third countries, the Annex No. 5 of the Agreement will regulate this issue.
