It was important that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan did not use the phrase “Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire” in his UN speech, expert Alexander Manasyan told reporters today.

“It was correct from both theoretical and political perspectives, because the Armenian Genocide was perpetrated not only in the Ottoman Empire, but also beyond its borders. The Turkish Republic – the predecessor of the Ottoman Empire – was also carrying out the same policy,” he said.

As for the Armenian-Turkish protocols, Manasyan said “the process revealed the aggressive nature of Turkey and Azerbaijan.”

“The ball has long been on the Turkish side. The game has become meaningless, as Turkey does not play,” he said.
