Jordan’s Ambassador presents credentials to Armenian President

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Armenia Muhammad Nur Osman Yusuf Balkar presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The president congratulated the ambassador on the occasion of starting his diplomatic mission in our country, wished him success and expressed hope that Ambassador Balkar will use all his experience and knowledge to reinforce and enhance the bilateral relations. Underscoring that the Armenian-Arab friendly relations have an age-old history, Serzh Sargsyan noted that it is the foundation on which Armenia develops its relations with Arab countries where according to him, it gives a special role to Jordan as well.

Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador Balkar agreed that there is great potential for strengthening the interstate relations and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in a number of spheres into which their efforts should be directed. In that context the importance of the legal framework was stressed, which, according to the parties, will greatly stimulate trade and economic ties.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that the cooperation within the framework of international organizations, especially the UN, is based on mutual respect.

The Jordanian ambassador thanked for the warm welcome and assured that during his tenure he will spare no effort to bolster the friendly ties between Armenia and Jordan.
