Catherine Ashton: Growing tension in Karabakh conflict zone to lead to dramatic consequence

The European Union calls on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to hold fast to ceasefire regime, refrain from the use of force and threats and make efforts for a peaceful settlement of the issue, the statement released by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Catherine Ashton reads.

“We are extremely concerned about the recent incidents on the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani Armed Forces, which caused victims,” the statement says.

The EU reaffirmed its readiness to intensify cooperation with OSCE Minsk-Group aimed at the political settlement of the issue.
